F1- Singapore Grand Prix 2010

This was the 15th race of the F1 year, and with only 4 races after this one, this race is key for the world championship. The Singapore Grand Prix is the only race in the whole calendar, that is in the dark.

Sebastian Vettel was top in all the practice sessions on Friday and on Saturday morning for Red Bull. Ferrari's Fernando Alonso made the big surprise of the weekend by acheiving Pole Position. On the race day, Fernando Alonso was mounted with great pressure at the start of the race by 2nd placed Vettel. The two Mclarens of Hamilton and Button qualified 3rd and 4th respectively. The World Championship leader, Mark Webber qualified in fifth. These positions seemed to look as if they were going to stick until the pit-stops, where Webber got in front of the two McLarens. Both, Hamilton and Button were told to really push at Webbber, and force him to make a mistake. Not long after Hamilton made the move on Webber, but they crashed into each other, forcing Hamilton to retire from the race. On the penultimate lap, the Lotus of Heikki Kovalinen, burst into flames. Unusually, he got out and extinguished the fire himself! At the same time with the cut off time of two hours looming, Vettel had got right onto Alonso's tail, with only one lap to go. They battled it out to the end, but Alonso went over the finish line to win the second consecutive race.

This result means that with only four races to go, the top five drivers have the difference of only one win between them.
